A. PCT National Phase Applications in Singapore
i.
PCT National Phase Applications with an official filing date on or after 1 July 2004
|
Under Singapore law, the most cost-effective way of obtaining a patent is by relying on the International Preliminary Report on Patentability (Chapter I or Chapter II) or the final prosecution results from corresponding applications with the same priority from any one of the prescribed countries, i.e. United States of America, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Europe (filed in English only), Canada (filed in English only) or Japan within 42 months from the priority date.
Where the applicant intends to pursue one of the above options, our total fixed charges for filing a patent and prosecuting to grant inclusive of official fees and disbursements would be SGD1929.80[approximately USD1253 and Euro 970].

ii.
PCT National Phase Applications in Singapore with an official filing date before 1 July 2004
Chapter I
|
As of 1 January 2004, the new 30-month time limit under PCT Article 22 (1) will also apply for Chapter I applications. Our total fixed charges for filing Chapter I applications and prosecuting to grant inclusive of official fees and disbursements are SGD3019.60 [approximately USD1960, Euro1517].
Chapter I applications undergo substantive examination in Singapore based on the International Search Report. Therefore, it is not necessary to file a request for search at the Registry. The applicants must submit a request for examination with copies of the cited documents in the International Search Report.

Chapter II |
Our total fixed charges for filing Chapter II applications and prosecuting to grant inclusive of official fees and disbursements are SGD1507.60 [approximately USD979 and Euro757].
Chapter II applications do not undergo examination in Singapore. Therefore, it is not necessary to file a request for search and examination in Singapore. Grant will be issued on the basis of the International Preliminary Examination Report (IPER).

Where the applicant intends to pursue the above option, our total fixed charges for filing a patent and prosecuting to grant inclusive of official fees and disbursements would be SGD1979.80[approximately USD1285 and Euro 995].
